Faith in action

Young people have the power to change the world. We’re passionate about empowering Young Leaders to transform society and to inspire others to do the same.

At St Anne's, children have two opportunities to complete a Young Leader's Award, once in KS1 and again in KS2. Through completing the award, children develop core skills through practical activities and team building challenges, including effective communication, creative thinking, emotional intelligence, humility and compassion. The award creates opportunities for social action enabling young people to be confdent, commited and community minded.

YLA - 2023

KS1 completed their award in 2023. We were proud to link up with a local homelessness charity to raise funds for those who need it most in our local area. We held a pjama day in school to raise money and created some wonderful artwork representing what 'home' means to us. All of our artwork was entered into a national competiton and three of our pupils were chosen to have their art work displayed in an art gallery in Manchester!

Our entries to the art competition, 'show me home.'

KS1 raised over £100 for the charity, Greater Manchester Major's Charity.

YLA - 2022

This year, our Year 2 class embarked on their YLA journey and chose to support Ukraine for their social action project. After learning about importnat qualities leaders possess, they put all their new skills into action and raised over £100 for refugees coming to Sale by making and selling Ukraine themed friendship bracelets. The class also created a 'welcome box' for a family locating to Sale including essentials and other items to welcome the family to their new home.
