Exciting Playground Developments
We have massively improved our playground environment with the addition of an Outdoor Classroom and an exciting playground ship known as the North Sea Galleon.
The North Sea Galleon is a huge playground ship incorporating a range of different physical and mental challenges to engage children at primary level across the board, from EYFS upwards.
Our new ship includes:
• Climbing Wall
• Climbing Ramp
• Rope Hanging Bars
• Net Bridge Traverse
• Scrambling Net
• Vertical Sliding Pole
• Steel Slide
• Ship Steering wheel
• Hold Dens
These amazing features provide plenty of opportunities for role play, social interaction and physical development.
There are challenges for children's upper body strength, core stability, and gross motor skills through bigger body movements and Grab and grasp actions for swinging to develop fine motor skills.
Alongside the North Sea Galleon, we have installed an excellent 6M outdoor classroom that can accommodate up to 50 children.
It includes a decked base, benches and giant chalkboard to create a sheltered space for structured ad unstructured learning.
Captain Goodson (aka Mrs Goodson, Headteacher at St Anne’s!) set the ship to sail and welcomed the first pirates aboard with a wonderful grand opening ceremony!
Staff and children alike dressed up in fine pirate robes, cut the ribbon, then set sail together on their maiden voyage! A fabulous fun day for all!
We worked with Pentagon Play on this exciting project and highly recommend them to any school looking to develop their outdoor area.
